We have made desperate efforts to keep Artsakh [(Nagorno-Karabakh)]. Gevorg Papoyan, an MP of the ruling faction of the National Assembly (NA) of Armenia, told this to reporters at the NA Friday, addressing the question that if Armenia’s positions were really not that strong in the peace talks with Azerbaijan and in terms of military relations, then why PM Nikol Pashinyan had stated “Artsakh is Armenia, and that’s it!”
“We have considerably increased the military budget [of Armenia], tried to make a breakthrough in diplomacy because we realized that the army [of Armenia] is not ready for war, [the country’s] diplomacy is in a shameful state, we have made desperate efforts and failed. We did not manage to do in two years what should have been done in 20 years,” Papoyan added.
